The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will hold open house style public meetings for the
Interstate 90 (I-90), Exits 61-67 Interchange Modification Study, Environmental Assessment and Design project.

PUBLIC MEETING: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 5-7 P.M.
The public meeting open house for the I-90 (exits 61-67) Environmental Assessment Kick Off Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. (MT) at the Box Elder Community Center (located at 420 Villa Dr.) A short presentation will be given at the beginning of the meeting. This will inform area residents of the intent to pursue an Environmental Assessment for the I-90 exits 61-67 projects. Information about resurfacing and reconstruction of I-90 east and westbound lanes, reconstruction of the exit 63 interchange, and improvements to drainage, floodplains, and bridge structures will be available. Public Meeting Thur., Apr. 13, 2023, 6–7:30 p.m.
An informal public meeting was held on Thurs., Apr. 13, 2023, 6–7:30 p.m. for the I-90, exit 63 Interchange Project at the Box Elder City Hall, 420 Villa Dr., Box Elder, SD. A presentation took place shortly after 6:00 p.m. Afterwards, SDDOT staff was available with displays to discuss the proposed project and answer any questions.
The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) held a virtual open house meeting for the I-90, exit 63 (Box Elder/Ellsworth AFB Commercial Gate) Interchange Modification Study, Environmental Review and Design project. During the comment period, which was from Jan. 20, 2021 to Feb. 20, 2021, the public was encouraged to review a series of project videos and provide site-specific comments on the Technically Feasible Interchange Alternative. Although the comment period is now closed, the series of videos can be viewed below.
